Whew! It has been quite a year! This year has definitely had its ups and downs, but one of the best things about 2014 was starting this blog. I had been thinking about it for a few years, but the loud, negative voice in my head kept telling me, “Doing a blog will be a waste of time. Besides, no one will read it!” Well, I am happy to say that it is definitely not a waste of time. I’m having so much fun with it, and it gives me an outlet for some creativity, an outlet I haven’t really had for the past few years. And people are reading it. Yay! My friends and family regularly ask me how my blog is going, and a dear friend from high school told me last week that she is so proud of me for starting it. That was such a great thing to hear and totally made my day. Doing this blog has taught me that it really is OK to dive into something just because you enjoy it, and the people who care about you will be supportive.
Thanks to everyone who has stopped by, left a comment, followed me on social media, or supported my blog adventures in any way! Here’s to a new year and more good things to come!
I hope you all had a great holiday last week. Handsome Hubby and I are back home now after a week with my family. He’s heading to see his family this week, but I have to cover the holidays this week, so I’m staying home. No big New Year’s Eve plans for me.
I bought the dress in today’s post a few years ago at Nordstrom. I had a gift card and decided to buy something that wasn’t typical for me. I wasn’t sure about it at first, but once I wore it, I loved it. The color blocking and pleated skirt are so fun, and it’s even OK for work when worn with tights. I’m so glad I took a chance on this fun dress!

It’s no secret that I’m a big fan of dresses and skirts, so it’s only logical that I’d be a fan of sweater dresses. I have four or five, and I wear them constantly during the winter months. They’re so easy to throw on with tights and boots on days when I’m tired of jeans or pants. I especially like the textures on this one. I usually wear riding boots with sweater dresses, but I like the look with these black ankle boots. A pair of pumps would work too.
