I wore these shorts in one of my first outfit posts last year. I love the stripes, and because I have so much red in my closet, I can pair them with so many things. I did some pattern mixing in last year’s post, but if doing that seems a bit daunting, you can try mixing a patterned item with something that has graphic print with similar colors, like a cute printed t-shirt. Even a t-shirt with a print rather than a solid t-shirt adds some visual interest to an outfit. Don’t get me wrong: solid t-shirts have their place in every person’s wardrobe, but it’s nice to go with something with a little whimsy sometimes.

I am obsessed with the Self-Portrait brand. It’s been around since only 2013, but it already has some A-list fans, including the lovely Rachel McAdams. So many of the styles are a great combination of feminine and edgy. Some of my favorite dresses are below, and I especially love the red one (of course). The price range of these dresses is more than I’m willing to pay though, so I’ll have to admire these pieces from my computer screen.

It’s not every day that I feel I can get away with wearing red and pink together. I’ve seen celebrities and some other bloggers pull off red and pink colorblocking, but I’ve never had the guts to do it myself, maybe because I have always heard that these to colors DO NOT GO TOGETHER. Well, this skirt proves that theory wrong. The pretty floral print has several shades of red and pink in it, and it totally works. I went with a basic white cami so it didn’t compete with the pattern in the skirt, but a white button-up would look great too, as would a white boatneck top or even a crop top.
This skirt is from Chicwish, and as with the other Chicwish skirt I’ve featured on the blog, this one runs a bit small. I’m wearing a medium here and normally wear a small, so check the size guide before you order.
