Casual Friday: Distressed Skinny Jeans

Hello, everyone!

Holy moly, it’s cold outside! As I type this, says that it feels like it’s 2 degrees outside. Ug! All I want to do is crawl under every blanket I own, hold a cup of hot tea, snuggle with Handsome Hubby and our dog, and watch multiple episodes of my favorite TV shows (The Big Bang Theory and Gilmore Girls come immediately to mind). Oh, and I want to avoid going outside until it’s at least above 60. I think I have some waiting to do.

The outfit for today is another one of my go-to outfits for winter weather: jeans, a button-up, a sweater, and boots. I wear some version of this outfit at least twice a week when it’s cold outside. I do especially love the distressed jeans I’m wearing. I’ve been hesitant to embrace distressed jeans because there’s a fine line between too much distressing and just enough. Too much distressing makes jeans look like they need to make their way to the bottom of a trash can. If the distressing is just right, the jeans look worn in, casual, and perfect for a look like this. I think this pair from American Eagle is just right. And the best part is that these jeans are affordable. I don’t have the budget to buy expensive denim, and the logical part of my brain tells me that it makes no sense to spend a lot of money on jeans that have holes in them. I just can’t do it.
