A friend of mine asked me about game day outfits that don’t include either a jersey or a shirt with the team’s logo or name. To help with this request, my Friday posts this month will include outfits that fit the bill. Because my friend who asked about this is a Virginia Tech alum, today’s outfit features VT’s colors: orange and maroon.
For any game day outfit, they key is to go with the school’s or team’s colors. Doing this will keep you from having to give in and wear that shabby t-shirt you’ve had for the better part of a decade. It might be soft and comfy, but it’s not exactly chic.
I have to admit that I’m not a football fan myself. I grew up in a football city, but I never really got into the game. My husband is a big college football fan though, so he nearly always watches his college’s team on Saturdays during the fall. Rather than feign interest in touchdowns and field goals on game days, I usually run errands or find something else to do for a few hours to keep me out of our apartment and away from any and all sports bars. Occasionally, I do have to watch a game when Handsome Hubby invites friends over. I always love seeing friends, but I still can’t bring myself to be very interested in any football game that’s on. See below for some funny pics of me pretending to enjoy watching athletic events.
So here I am pretending to be excited about football! Hooray sports! Do the thing! Win the points! [insert spirit fingers, thumbs up, and high fives here]
And here’s how I really feel about football. Yawn! Do we really still have three quarters to go?!?!
