Mixing Patterns: Houndstooth Skirt and Floral Blouse

Hello, everyone!

Here we are on the first day of spring, and it’s cold again. Blah. #SoOverWinter. The only thing that makes up for the lousy weather change is that I have pictures of this cute wintery outfit for today’s post.

I’ve worn both this skirt and this blouse before, and I decided to do some pattern mixing and wear them together. If you’re wary of mixing patterns, start with a very regular pattern – such as stripes, polka dots, houndstooth, or herringbone – and add an item with a larger or floral pattern that has some of the same colors. In the mix here, both items have black and white in them. Mixing patterns is a fun thing to try if you’re tired of wearing a pattern with a solid.
