I have not yet fully embraced the high-waisted skirt trend, but I do have one or two skirts that fit into this category. This mustard skirt (last seen here) is one of them. I’m also not a huge fan of yellow in general because it’s not a good color for me, but when I saw this mustard-colored skirt last year, I fell in love with it. I’ve gotten a lot more use out of it than I thought I would, and it just happens to go with this cute polka dot blouse I got from Boden several months ago. I thought about going with neutral accessories, but I actualy really like the red. I think green would be cute with this outfit too. If the patterned top is too much for you, maybe try something in solid navy with a skirt this color. I think a teal or seafoam might work too depending on the shade. Or if you’re really bold, go for something orchid, plum, or eggplant. Oh, and it would look great with a burgundy or mulberry color too.
