LOFT has been having some great sales lately, so I just HAD to stroll through over the weekend and see what I could find. I tried on several things and thought I’d share with you how my shopping trip went. I apologize up front for the quality of these pics. I took them with my iPhone, so they’re not great. The next time I do a post like this, I’ll be sure to take a better camera.
I love dresses, especially during the summer, and I like the blue of this dress. Here’s how it looked:
I wasn’t very happy with the way this dress fit. The waistline was well above my natural waist, which felt a bit awkward. I tried on a size up, but it was just too loose everywhere, so I didn’t end up purchasing it. If you wear a small size, I think this dress might be great for someone who’s a bit shorter than I am (I’m just under 5′ 7″). The color was pretty in person though, and it was comfortable aside from the waistline hitting me at my rib cage rather than my waist.
I’m a big fan of LOFT’s Lou & Grey collection. Everything looks so comfortable but still chic. I have one or two pieces from this collection, and I’m happy with them, so of course I browsed through the Lou & Gray section and found this cute dress to try on:
This dress is designed to be a straight, boxy fit, but that was fine with me. It was lightweight and comfortable and felt like something I’d wear a lot when it’s hot outside and I don’t want to wear anything clingy. And I love that it has horizontal AND vertical stripes! So fun! I love stripes in general, but the two directions of the stripes in this dress keep it from being too similar to other items I have in my closet. Rather than buying this dress, I decided think about it for a few days, but I’m already wishing I’d snatched it up. It’s 50 percent off today, so I might have to stop by LOFT after work!
I don’t own a lot of shorts. I tend to wear skirts and dresses during the summer, but I’m trying to branch out. I like the tweed of these shorts and that they zip up the side rather than button up the front, so I thought I’d give them a try.
These shorts look cute from the front, but as you can see from the picture on the right, they gap open at the back. Sigh. I wanted them to work for me, but I don’t even think taking them in would be an option because of the pockets and the size zipper. The store I went to didn’t have a smaller size, and I’m afraid a smaller size would have been tight across my bum. The tweed really is cute though and has a bit of blush mixed in with the black and white. I think these could be dressed up a bit for a cute date night outfit.
That was my shopping trip. I walked out of the store without buying anything, but I’m still considering the Lou & Grey dress above.
