Rather than do a shopping roundup of work clothes or casual clothes, I thought I’d do a post with some fun workout gear. Before I got into Pure Barre, I used to wear whatever grubby clothes I had lying around when I went to work out. Why spend money on clothes that you’re just going to sweat in, right? After buying some low-quality workout clothes and seeing them lose their shape or stretch after a few wears and washes, I decided that I’d rather spend money on quality workout wear since it really does take quite a beating.
There are a couple of brands that I’ve been very happy with when it comes to athletic wear: Athleta (especially their Chi tanks), Zella (available at Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack), Beyond Yoga (the leggings below are SO comfy and are the softest leggings you’ll ever wear), and Kira Grace (seen here). I’ve also heard good things about Alo and Splits59, but I don’t have anything from those brands. I have also bought a few things from Old Navy, which has a pretty extensive line of athletic wear, but it’s not my favorite workout gear, although I definitely like it better than the C9 collection at Target. I have a pair of C9 tights that lost their stretch and shape pretty quickly. I still have them and wear them, but they’re my “EVERYTHING ELSE IS DIRTY AND I HAVE TO GO TO A BARRE CLASS” tights.
Below are some of my workout gear pics. I don’t own all of these items, but I would consider buying any of them.
What do you wear when you workout? Are there any specific brands that hold up to your workouts well?
