My apologies for the slightly irregular blog schedule last week. I had to head down to Tennessee for a family emergency, so blogging just didn’t happen on the schedule I’ve been trying to follow. All is well, and I’m back home now and should be on schedule this week.
For today’s post, I’m wearing a bright yellow and gray pencil skirt that I got from the J.Crew Factory store a few years ago. I bought it on a whim because I didn’t have a lot of yellow in my closet and was trying to branch out and wear more colors. Yellow is a hard color for me to wear because it washes me out, but it works for me when it’s in a skirt or pants. This skirt is also a great excuse to wear my fabulous silver pumps. I love them and am so glad I grabbed them a few months ago. Metallics are a great neutral, and I think they’re a fun option when you don’t want to go with basic black or tan/nude.
The gray top I’m wearing is a thin jersey, so it’s great for the summer, and it matches the skirt perfectly. The twist at the neck is a nice detail. I’ve also worn this skirt with a basic white button-up shirt, and that look worked too.
